Greenway@Featherdown has been a member of the (IEA) Interscholastic Equitation Association since 2009. We have fielded successful teams at both the Upper & Middle School levels. Our teams have competed three years at the National level and regularly send riders to both Regionals and Zone Finals.

To join the team a rider must make to commitment to stay with the teaming ride at Featherdown for the entire season, September through April. Two lessons per week are required for “team practice”. Competitions are scheduled well in advance, with a full schedule for each rider limited to 5 shows. Each rider is evaluated at the beginning of the season and will be placed according to ability and riding history. Each level offers flat and over fences classes except the Beginner division which is walk trot or walk, trot, canter. Riders accumulate points to qualify for post season for themselves and the team. The challenge of riding IEA is the opportunity to ride various horses. The host team provides horses for each competition and riders have the luck of the draw to ride an appropriate level horse for their class.

Budgeting for the IEA season can be easily fulfilled. Costs per show are set at the start of the season and schedule is set according to personal calendars.
